I am an associate professor of Medicine with the university of western Australia, I am a fellow of five international colleges of physician, Royal college of physician of Ireland, Glasgow, London, Australasian college of phycian and American college of Physician, I am an Editor in chief for few peers reviewed journals, I published widely in international peer reviewed journals, I am expert in pulmonary hypertension aortopulmonary hypertension ,and hepatopulmonary syndrome, my areas of interest included and not limited to stroke, chronic heart failure, difficult to treat hypertension, chronic complex medical conditions, acute medicine , general neurology, general hepatology, clinical governance in addition to rare diseases, I am an international examiner for the Royal college of physicians of Dublin , I also examine for the Australasian college of physician, Australian medical council , and university of western Australia, I served one term as a member of the panel of the medical board of western Australia, I also served one term as a director of stroke unit, hepatology of liver service , director medical education, director of physician training and two terms as a director of medicine.

I worked for 31 years in the Institute of Medical Research and Studies of Medicinal Plants and realize until now many ethno pharmacological studies in Cameroon. I was a Botanist and ethnobotanist, consultant at Heifer International Project-Cameroon in Ethnovet Project and at many Environmental and Social Impacts Assessment projects in Cameroon and in Africa. These projects include Hydroelectric Dam Projects: Ménvé-élé, Bini à Wara; Grand Godi, Power House Liberia, Song-Dong; , Kekem Hydroelectric project; Central Electric of Poulgwé; Hydrological hydraulical, hydro geographical and botanical Kribi deep water port project; First 100 Km of Motor Way (Yaounde-Douala), Bini à Wara line of energy evacuation, Ntem mining ore exportation project. I have many ungradual and gradual skills in the fieldwork with students in environmental sciences and I teach several subjects in Higher Education. I realized these consultations with many International and National Organizations that include Alpha Technology, Poëry Environmental SA, Riotincto Alpican, Rainbow Environmental Consult, Caminex etc. I am a principal investigator of 4 books, edited by Heifer Project International Cameroon, author of 66 articles and reviewer/editor in several international journals.

In 1998 I was very excited to join the Department of Medicine at University of Southern California as a post-doctor with the expectation to be engaged in a research of liver disease with focus on Glutathione Synthase genes and Glutathione (GSH). In 2003, I was very delighted to award an assistant professor at the Department of Medicine in University of Southern California. In 2014, I moved to cedars-Sinai Medical Center and as assistant professor at the Department of Medicine. As a co-Principal Investigator (PI: Shelly Lu), I am engaged in the regulation and dysregulation of Methionine adenosyltransferase 1A (MAT1A) in cell proliferation, apoptosis, migration and metastasis of liver cancer. We examine on how human MAT1A gene is dysregulated in HCC and uncovered several microRNAs regulate MAT1A expression and targeting them can reduce HCC growth and invasion. Most recently we showed MATα1 is strongly expressed in bile duct epithelial cells in addition to hepatocytes, is down-regulated in chronic cholestasis and cholangiocarcinoma. In addition, we showed MATα1 interacts with c-Myc and they regulate each other in reciprocal manner via the E-box. This recent work demonstrated an important role for MAT1A as a tumor suppressor in cholangiocarcinoma. In the project two (PI: Shelly Lu, Co-PI: Heping Yang), I am interested in studying expression and regulation of Methionine Adenosyltransferase 2A (MAT2A). I and co-workers cloned the promoter of the human MAT2A and described how it is regulated by growth factors and cytokines. In addition, I showed some of the mechanisms for its up-regulation in both human HCC and colon cancer. S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe) and its metabolite 5-methylthioadenosine (MTA) are proapoptotic in HepG2 cells. We have uncovered a highly novel action of SAMe and MTA, namely the ability to affect the cellular phosphorylation state and alternative splicing of genes, in this case resulting in the induction of Bcl-x(S) leading to apoptosis.

The main expertise of Dr. Yasin Sahin is celiac disease, liver disease and endoscopy in children. He is mainly dedicated to celiac disease in children. He is founder of the Pediatric Gastroenterology Department in Mersin City Training and Research Hospital, and Medical Park Gaziantep Hospital. He is working at the Pediatric Gastroenterology Department of Medical Park Gaziantep Hospital, Turkey.
Akmal Nabil Ahmad El-Mazny, MD, FICS; Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt. He was graduated from Cairo University, Egypt. He pursued his masters and MD in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. His sub-specialties include assisted reproduction and gynecologic endoscopy. Fatih OZCELIK M.D., Assoc. Prof., Clinical Biochemistry Specialist. He was born in Iskenderun, Hatay, Turkey, in 1968 and graduated from Barbaros Primary, Secondery and High School respectively. In 1993, he completed Gulhane Faculty of Medicine, Gulhane Military Medical Academy in Ankara. From 1994 to 1996, he served as a general practitioner in Cyprus. Dr. Ozcelik returned to Gulhane Military Medical Academy in 1996 and completed his medical biochemistry specialty training in 1999. Then he worked as Medical Biochemistry Expert in Tatvan Military Hospital from 1999 to 2003, Gumussuyu Military Hospital from 2003 to 2012 and Erzincan Military Hospital from 2012 to 2015 respectively. In 2014 he received his title of associate professor. He worked in the Department of Medical Biochemistry at Haydarpaşa Military Hospital in 2015-2016. He has done scientific research on pseudotrombocytopenia, Type 2 DM, obesity, hepatosteatosis and inflammatory markers. Since 2017, he has been a lecturer at the School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine. He is married and has a son.

Dr. Spera Anna Maria is an infectivologist at University Hospital of Salerno San Giovanni di Dio e Ruggi d Aragona , Italy. She received her MD at University of Naples Federico II, Italy. In the same year her research project about, quick testing of HCV infection among young women (EURYDICE project) dedicated to eradication of hepatitis in this setting and to reduce the risk its maternal to fetal transmission, was selected and financed by Italian Society of Infectious and Tropical diseases. She promoted a survey about the risk consciousness related to Measles and Rubella among young paramedical students, as expected by WHOs Global Measles and Rubella Campaign and an internal protocol for the management of infection in pregnancy at University of Naples. She is author of several reviews indexed on pubmed and cited. She also worked as a neonatologist for a brief period (Ospedale San Carlo di Potenza, Italy) and, in 2009, she did an observer ship in the NICU of Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies at Orlando Regional Medical Center (FL, USA). She published 13 articles and 3 books in different journals.

Dr Joseph Prandota received his Doctor of Medical Sciences degree 1970 and PhD degree 1980 from Wroclaw Medical University, Poland. He worked as Assistant in Dpt of Pharmacology 1966-1975, Dpt of Pediatric Nephrology 1975-1977, the Associate Professor, Full Professor and Chief in Dpt of Pediatrics, J. Korczak Memorial Childrens Hospital in Wroclaw 1978-2002, and then in the Faculty of Dentistry, and as the Chair and Head of the Dpt of Social Pediatrics, Faculty of Health Sciences, Wroclaw Medical University 2002-2011. Irma Victoria Machado Bartoli received her MD at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) in 1972 obtaining his specialties in Internal Medicine and Digestive Diseases in 1977. Afterwards, she won a scholarship to travel to Harvard University in Boston, where she accomplished in 2year research fellowship in the Department of Gastroenterology at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital currently named Brigham and Womens Hospital being pioneer setting up techniques to isolate lamina propria lymphocytes from patients suffering IBD and colon cancer. At present, Dr. Machado is retired after 31 years of service in the Institute of Immunology, Faculty of Medicine, UCV, where she reached Full Professor teaching level of contest. She founded and directed the Digestive Diseases and Liver Immunology Section, contributing to the development of the Magister in Clinical and Basic Immunology by facilitating teaching and coaching learners, and conducting comprehensive research. She also acts as founder and Medical Director of the clinical reference lab Intediag HV during 15 years until 2015. Her main research interests have been the immunological diagnosis and cellular responses of patients infected with hepatitis B and C viruses involving also epidemiological studies, prevention and therapy approaches. She has published more than 90 papers and review chapters in scientific journals and textbooks. She has received more than 30 scientific awards and distinctions. Currently, Dr. Machado is considered a reference professional for the care of patients with viral hepatitis, or for those suffering other immunological diseases of the liver or the gut.
