A Bibliometric Analysis of Emotion Artificial Intelligence in Education Using VOSviewer and CitNetExplorer

Abstract

With the development of AI technology, emotional artificial intelligence has gained significant attention from academics and practitioners, becoming an actively researched topic in the field of education. Existing studies rarely examines from the perspective of necessary competences that emotion artificial intelligence itself need to possess in the process of education. To bridge this research gap, this study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis through visualization and citation network analyses. The result shows that two main research domains of emotion artificial intelligence in education: models and frameworks for emotion recognition, and emotion recognition channels and methods. This paper concludes that emotional artificial intelligence needs to have personal and social competences in the process of serving education. Findings may contribute to further studies on the further design and application of emotional artificial intelligence in educational and other fields and inspire technological advancements that may help effectively tackle the current challenges.
