Jouko Pirhonen is a Finnish/Swedish obstetrician, researcher, and professor. He was born in Siilinjärvi in the middle part of Finland. After fulfilling the MD degree in Kuopio 1981, he moved to Lahti where he received his basic ob/gyn training. Thereafter he spent his university years at Turku University Hospital on the western coast of Finland. He presented his PhD in Turku 1990, and followed his education in perinatal&fetal medicine there too. After working as a visiting professor at Yale University, USA, he moved to Lund University, Sweden where he worked as a senior consultant and university teacher. In 1997 he further moved to Bergen in Norway to work with a fetal medicine team. In 2000 he became a Professor, Head and Director in Division of Maternal/Fetal Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Oslo University, Norway. Moamar Al Jefout is an Associate Professor and Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and Endoscopic Surgery, at Mutah University, Jordan and United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CM&HS), UAE. Moamar is currently involved in studying endometriosis in his local and regional communities in the Middle East and is heavily involved in promoting awareness of this disease and related symptoms, especially among health professionals and families within the Middle East. He believes that it is of high importance to identify early symptoms suggestive of endometriosis in teenagers, especially in those young girls with a family history and severe dysmenorrhea that negatively affects quality of life. Moamars major clinical and research interest is in endometriosis & adenomyosis and PCOS; prevalence, pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment both surgically and medically. He is one of the pioneers in the quest for biomarkers for the diagnosis of endometriosis. His research about uterine nerve fibres indicated the possibility of utilizing these findings as a minimally invasive and specific test. He is also interested in development of novel modalities for medical treatment of endometriosis by combining different types of progestogens and their long-acting delivery systems. He has published several articles in peer reviewed International Journals and two chapters in books addressing endometriosis.

She completed the research on Innovation in the Health Sector in Turkey; and coordinated the study on Epidemiological and Economic Assessment of Hepatitis C Virus in Sixteen CEE and CIS Countries.
