Gian Maria Pacifici is a clinical pharmacologist, he was born in 1944 in Lucca, Italy, achieved the PhD in Biological Sciences at the University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy, in 1971, and the PhD in Medical Sciences at the Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden, in 1983. He held the permanent position of Associate Professor of Pharmacology, Department of Pharmacology, Medical School, University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy from 1983 till 2014, and at present he is retired, but he works at home where he has the computer, the printer, and the scanner, his work is very productive, and his work deals with the effects, metabolism, and pharmacokinetics of drugs. In the Department of Pharmacology, Prof. Gian Maria Pacifici established a bank of human tissues containing specimens of human liver, intestinal mucosa, kidney, lung and brain and some of these specimens were freely given to pharmacologist to perform their studies. Prof. Pacifici has published 315 articles dealing with the clinical pharmacology of different drugs.

I was born in Tehran, the capital of Iran in 1971. I entered the program of medicine in 1988 and got my M.D. degree from the School of Medicine, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in 1996. In 2000, I was accepted into a postgraduate program in Toxicology and graduated with a Ph.D. degree in Toxicology from the Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 2005. I continued my education as a fellowship of Clinical Toxicology in the Department of Emergency, Bellevue Hospital, and New York City Poison Control Center, New York University School of Medicine, New York – the USA in 2011. I started my academic status as an Assistant Professor in 2005 and now, I am a Full Professor in the Department of Medical Toxicology in the School of Medicine, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. I have been the Chair of Medical Toxicology Intensive Care Unit (2005 up to 2014), Chair of Loghman Hakim Hospital Poison Center (2014 up to now), the Chair of Drug and Poison Information Service in Loghman Hakim Hospital (2005-2013), Vice-Chancellor in Education & Research of Medical Toxicology Department (2012-2014), and Head of Medical Toxicology Department in School of Medicine, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (2014 up to 2018). In 2013, I began my duty as a Vice-Chancellor in Residency and Post Graduate Education in the School of Medicine, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences for 15 months, and then I continued my duty as a Director of Postgraduate Educational Affairs at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences for 3 years and now I am the Executive Advisor of Vice-Chancellor of Education in Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. I have been selected as a representative resident in Loghman Hakim Hospital, in School of Medicine, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in 2003, and the Medical Council of Iran has elected me as a representative physician from the Iranian Society of Toxicology (INTOX) in 2005. I was awarded a fellowship in Ninth IUTOX Summer School on Risk Assessment of Chemicals (RASS-IX) in 2002, another fellowship in Advanced Hazmat Life Support (AHLS), Provider and Instructor Course in 2006, and also, I was awarded an IUOTOX fellowship, in 43rd Eurotox congress in 2006. I got APAMT grant in the sixth congress of the Asia Pacific Association of Medical Toxicology in 2007, and another scholarship at 36th Medichem Congress “Innovation in Occupational Health”, in 2008. I was elected and awarded as one of the best researchers at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in 2007, 2010, and 2014, and elected as one of the best professors in education at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in 2008 and 2010. As an academic member, I have supervised more than 50 M.D., Pharm.D., residency, Ph.D., and Master thesis. As the outcome of my research, I published more than 130 papers and more than 95 presentations at different congresses. I have cooperated as an author in four Farsi (Persian), 4 English books, and 7 clinical guidelines in toxicology (Persian). In addition, I have been a scientific editor of one Farsi (Persian) book in toxicology. I am the reviewer of 8 national and international journals and have a role as an editorial board in 2 national journals. I hold the 10th International Iranian Congress of Toxicology and Poisoning congress as a General Secretary also holds nearly 10 scientific seminars as a scientific director of the programs and participate in more than 40 seminars and workshops as a speaker. I have been one of the Founding members of the Toxicology Research Center in Loghman Hakim Hospital Poison Center, and I am one of the members of the Research Developing Center of Loghman Hakim Hospital Poison Center. I am also an academic consultant in clinical toxicology in the National Drug and Poison Information Center (DPIC), Undersecretary of Food and Drug Affairs, Ministry of Health and Medical Education (2005-present), and specialist consultant in Legal issues related to Poisoning and Overdoses in Medical Council of Iran (2007-present). I was the Secretary-Trustee of the Iranian Society of Toxicology from 2006 to 2013, and I was the vice president of this society from 2013 to 2016 and at now, I am the president of the Iranian Society of Toxicology. I served as a member of the National Examination and Evaluation Board of Toxicology, Ministry of Health since 2007. I was a member of the American College of Medical Toxicology (ACMT) from 2002 to 2012 and in 2008; I have been selected for the Fellowship of the American College of Medical Toxicology (FACMT). Involving in the establishment of the Drug & Poison Information Center (DPIC) and Methadone Maintenance Treatment (MMT) Clinic of Loghman Hakim Hospital Poison Center is one of my honors.

Dr. Nuruzzaman is currently working as Research Associate at Global Center for Environmental Remediation (GCER), University of Newcastle, Australia. Before joining at UON, Dr. Nuruzzaman was a full time PhD scholar at the Centre for Environmental Risk Assessment and Remediation (CERAR), University of South Australia, Mawson Lakes, Australia (2013 to 2015) and at GCER (2015-2017). During his PhD tenure, Dr. Zaman has worked on synthesis of nanoencapsulated pesticide where insights of pesticide loading to the nanocarriers was the main aspect of his research.
Dr. Nuruzzaman is currently working on development of new low residual pesticide delivery systems using both organic and inorganic porous nano-carriers to reduce the offsite impacts of pesticide. He is also working on synthesis of smart and intelligent nano-fertilizer to enhance the nutrient use efficiency.

Dr. Woo Shik Shin, a tenure-track assistant professor in pharmaceutical sciences, comes to Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) from the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Shin most recently held the postdoctoral research associate position in the Department of Neurology in the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California. In addition, Dr. Shin served as a drug design research consultant and lecturer in the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the Western University of Health & Science. He earned his Ph.D. in biomedical informatics and medicinal chemistry at the University of Minnesota in the Center for Drug Design. His laboratory is primarily interested in drug design and discovery, protein structure/function, computational chemical biology, and drug resistance.

Debarati DasGupta completed her Bachelors in Chemistry Honors (BS) from St. xaviers College Kolkata, India. She then cleared the highly competitive All India Joint Entrance exam to pursue her interests in Physical Chemistry at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IITD), the top ranked institute in India. Intrigued with protein structures and protein shape and function, she joined Prof B Jayaram at IITD for a PhD in Computational Biophysical Chemistry. She completed her PhD in 2018 summer and has hence relocated to the United States joining the University of Michigan as a postdoctoral researcher working in the field of structure based and ligand based drug design, biomolecular simulations, and small molecule drug discovery pipeline. She is presently in her third year of postdoc at the University of Michigan, working with renowned Professor Heather Carlson. Her main research areas focus on fragment based drug design, virtual screening, SAR, advanced molecular dynamics simulations of biomolecules, protein-ligand binding affinities, hotspot mapping, and other advanced computational chemistry methods. When not working, Debarati loves to cook and take road trips!
My field of expertise as a postdoc in Prof Heather Carlsons lab at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor include computational chemistry and biology: structure based drug design, ligand based approaches and fragment based drug discovery; protein structure modeling, advanced physics based affinity prediction including free energy methods, docking and screening, tertiary structure and function prediction, medicinal chemistry, and in depth training in hit to lead optimization protocols. My initial graduate school training was in biophysical chemistry and computational protein folding dynamics at IIT Delhi, INDIA.
Dr. El Hadji Seydou Mbaye was born in 1978 in Kaolack a region of Senegal. During 2008-2013, he earned his PhD in Biology and Human Pathologies with the collaboration of the International Agency for Research on Cancer/World Health Organization, (IARC/WHO), Lyon (France); He obtained a Master’s of Life and Health, Specialty Biology of microorganisms, Virology; a Master’s of Life and Health, option Immuno-physiopathology; a License of Biochemistry in Louis Pasteur University of Strasbourg (France); and a General Degree in Sciences and Technologies in University of METZ (France). He was certified Grade 10/10 by the Federation International of Gynecology Obstetric (FIGO), the Accreditation Council of Oncology in Europe (ACOE), and the Institute Catalan of Oncology (ICO). These credits were recognized as Physician’s Recognition Award (AMA PRA Category 1) by the American Medical Association. He was awarded as International Outstanding Scientist Awards 2020, Awarded as the Best Researcher Award 2021, by VDGOOD. He was certified, by the United Nations, by IARC/WHO. He has published 1 Book with a style of philosophical story. Author of the World Program against Cancer in Low and Middle Incomes Countries, he is lead author of more than 90 peer-reviewed research articles published in reputed journals. Dr. Mbaye is Editor-in-Chief of 4 journals, Editorial Board Member of 157 International Journals, and then he has Edited/Reviewed 227 peer-reviewed articles.
