Biography
Eber Luis Stevao (DDS, S.Ed, PhD - Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon) was born in Southern Brazil in the year of 1968. He graduated from Pontifical Catholic University of Parana, School of Dentistry, Curitiba - Brazil, obtaining a DDS degree. He completed his post-graduation studies in Teachings and Didactics and received the title of Specialist in Advanced Education. After his Residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from 1995 thru 1999. During the residency he started his Doctorate in OMS receiving his Ph.D. degree from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, School of Dentistry, Porto Alegre - Brazil. His thesis was about Bone Repair. In 2001 he was accepted for a 2-full year training in OMS at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas - TX under Dr. Larry Wolfords tutelage. At the end of 2003 Dr. Stevao brought to Brazil the TMJ Surgical Prosthesis technique and legalized the TMJ total joint prosthesis (TMJ Concepts System) being the first surgeon to perform a science-based TMJ total joint alloplastic replacement in Brazil. In 2008 he was the first South American to enter the reclusive American Society of Temporomandibular Surgeons (ASTMJS). Besides his three already published books he wrote, edited and published the very first illustrative text-book about TMJ Surgery launched in 2014, Chicago, Illinois and has several publications in international journals. He successfully completed the NBDE I, II and NERB in 2015 in the USA obtaining the title of Doctor of Dental Surgery.
