M.Sc: Materials Processing Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen (2017-2019), Ph.D candidate: Materials Science and Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen (2019-present), Zn-ion energy storage devices employing hydrogel electrolytes are considered as promising candidates for flexible and wearable electronics applications. This is because of their safe nature, low cost, and good mechanical characteristics. However, conventional hydrogel electrolytes face limitation at subzero temperatures. Herein, we report an anti-freezing, safe, and nontoxic gel electrolyte based on the poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)/Zn/ethylene glycol system. The optimal gel electrolyte membrane exhibits a high ionic conductivity (15.03 mS cm-1 at room temperature) and promising anti-freezing performance (9.05 mS cm-1 at -20 °C and 3.53 mS cm-1 at -40 °C). Moreover, the anti-freezing gel electrolyte can suppress the growth of Zn dendrites to display a uniform Zn plating/stripping behavior. Also, a flexible antifreezing Zn-ion hybrid supercapacitor fabricated with the optimum antifreezing gel electrolyte membrane exhibits excellent lectrochemical properties. The supercapacitor possesses a high specific capacity of 247.7 F g-1 at room temperature under a high working voltage of 2 V.It also displays an outstanding cyclic stability at room temperature. Moreover, the supercapacitor shows an extraordinary electrochemical behavior and cyclic stability over up to 30 000 cycles at -20 °C under a current load of 5 A g-1, demonstrating its outstanding low-temperature electrochemical performance. Besides, the anti-freezing supercapacitor device also offers high flexibility under different deformation conditions. Therefore, it is believed that this work provides a simplistic method of realizing the application of flexible anti-freezing Zn-ion energy storage devices in a subzero-temperature environment.

Dr. Guya Diletta Marconi is as Researcher in Biomedical field at Department of Medical, Oral and Biotechnological Sciences, University of Chieti, Italy. She spent one year as a postdoctoral researcher at Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies, in San Diego. Dr. Marconi received her Ph.D. in April 2016 in Drug Sciences at University of Chieti, she spent half or her PhD abroad as visiting PhD student at the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute in San Diego, where she extended her skills and experience with a focus on the identification and validation of peptides inhibitors of target proteins involved in cancer progression. She works with a multidisciplinary group that carries highly translational basic science research. The laboratory of Prof. O. Trubiani, where Dr. Marconi works as a researcher, used mesenchymal oral stem cells, aimed to validate novel bioactive scaffolds as promising new approaches for tissue regeneration and repair. The current research is focused on mechanisms involved in stem cell-regulated tissue homeostasis and repair, particularly on the identification of molecules and phenotypic changes responsible for the regulation of the stem cell regenerative potential.

Prof. Hui Li received his Ph.D. degree in Shandong University at 1999. Following postdoctoral positions at the Nanjing University and Trento university in Italy. He had worked at the Ocean University of China in 2004 as a professor in the school of Information Science and Engineering. Since 2007, He joined Shandong University as a professor at School of Materials Science and Engneering in 2007. His research including the liquid structure of materials,solidification of liquid, surface and interface of materials, wetting and anti-wetting, nanowires and nanosheet, nanoelectronics, nanomechanics, energy materials,computational materials. Up to now, he had published 160 papers and 8 book chapters. Dr. Li is a recipient of the Taishan scholars (2013), Experts with outstanding contributions in Shandong province(2013), Shandong Outstanding Youth Fund (2008,first session), Education Ministrys New Century Excellent Talents (2005), Natural Science Award from Ministry of Education (2009), and the Shandong Natural Science Award (2013). He is Member of China Foundry Society, Member of Chinese Chemical Materials Society.

Dr. Xiaozhou Ma obtained his Ph.D. in Lanzhou University at 2016. During this period, he also went to Tsinghua University (2013-2016) to study the nanosensor and DNA hydrogel. He is now working as a PostDoc in Southwest University, China. His research including the aspects of the bio-mass based nanomaterials and hydrogels, especially the nanomaterials and smart gels for agriculture application, 3D printing and nanosensors. Up to now, he had published 17 papers on international journals and 4 book chapters.

"Alice Maria Correia Vilela. Received the BSc degree in Oenology and PhD degree in Microbiology from University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD). Currently, is Assistant Professor at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro and member of the Chemistry Research Centre – Vila Real. Published 29 articles in international scientific journals, 7 technical papers, 10 book chapters, and 71 publications in conference proceedings. Supervised masters thesis besides having supervised works of completion for Bach. / Degree in the field of Biological Sciences. Received 2 awards. Is currently involved in four research projects. Her research lines are linked with studies on volatile acidity bio-reduction in wines and food and wine sensory evaluation. Operates in the areas of Food Science with an emphasis in Microbiology and Sensory analysis. In her professional activities interacted with 50 researchers in co-authorship of scientific papers. She is also an active reviewer for Food Research International, Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, Food Chemistry and MDPI Journals (Fermentation, Beverages, Molecules, International Journal of Molecular Sciences and Materials) and Academic Editor of Asian Research Journal of Agriculture, International Journal of Environment and Climate Change, the Open Nutrition Journal and the Insights in Chemistry & Biochemistry Journal."
