Thomas J. Luger was born in Bregenz, Austria, in 1955. He received his doctoral degree in medicine from and was granted venia docendi (Habilitation) by the University of Innsbruck, Austria, in 1982 and 1995, respectively. In 1988 he was recognized as an Emergency Physician and in 1989 as a Specialist in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine. He was a research fellow at the Department of Anesthesiology, University of Washington, in Seattle in 1990/91. Presently, he is an associate professor at Innsbruck Medical University, working mainly clinically in the field of Trauma Anesthesiology and Postoperative Care, Multidisciplinary Geriatric Fracture Center as well as Emergency Medicine (Senior Emergency Physician). Scientifically he is interested in research topics in Anesthesiology and Trauma Medicine, especially in the elderly, as well as in pharmacological issues (Diploma for Clinical Trials) and Sports Medicine (sailing, major sports events). In 1990, he received a merit-based scholarship from the University of Innsbruck, the Max Kade Stipendium, in 2003 a special award from Innsbruck Medical University for excellent teaching, in 2005 UNITY award and in 2010 as co-author the Ignatius Nascher Förderpreis/ Vienna. Throughout his entire scientific career, he has achieved great recognition within the scientific community (Originals, Books, i publications: >130; Impact factor: >224). He has been Vice President of the Austrian Medical Association (Tyrol Chapter; 2004-2012). At Innsbruck Medical University he is Assistant Shop Steward of the Workers Council (until 2020) and served as Vice President (2007 – 2010) and President (2010 – 2011) of Alumn-I-Med, the medical universitys alumni association. In October 2020 he retired and is now working in a medical setting as a vaccinating physician to combat the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

Horng Chaung Hsu was an orthopedic surgeon at China Medical University Hospital in Taichung, Taiwan and currently served as the chairman and professor of de-partment of Orthopedics. Dr. Hiroshi Kawaguchi was graduated from the University of Tokyo and began his career as an orthopedic surgeon in 1985. Dr. Kawaguchi began as a researcher in the laboratory of Dr. Lawrence Raisz at the University of Connecticut in 1991. There he decided his lifes work would be on disease science, i.e. preclinical translational research leading directly to the treatment of skeletal disorders: osteoporosis, bone fracture, periprosthetic osteolysis, ossification of spinal ligaments, and osteoarthritis. He graduated from Zagazig University Faculty of medicine, Egypt in 1992 with a very good Honored grade. In 1998 he received his master degree in orthopaedic surgery with a very good degree and in 2005 he received his MD degree of orthopaedic from Zagazig University Faculty of medicine about adults joints reconstruction after special training and clinical fellowship at Toronto east general hospital, Toronto University in Canada. He was assigned as an assistant professor of Orthopaedic surgery in faculty of medicine, Zagazig University, since 2016 with vast experience in Arthroplasty, arthroscopic Knee sports injuries reconstruction besides his 23 years experience in management of all trauma cases as well as Joint replacement surgeries for the Knee and Hip including both primary as well as complex revision cases. He worked as an Orthopaedic consultant surgeon for the Saudia arabia Hospitals -KSA for 3 years providing tertiary care quality service in Joints arthroscopic and replacement surgeries as well as emergency managment for all injuries including polytrauma patients. He is member in the College of Physician and surgeons of Ontario, CANADA, since 2001 with vast experience in reconstruction of Bone and Joints defects. He participated formally and till now in teaching Medical students at Zagazig faculty of medicine in Egypt and has published many scientific papers, in different national and international journals, international books and presented many articles and lectures in both national and international courses and Conferences. He is a member of several professional societies and committees including: Egypt medical syndicate as an Orthopaedic surgery consultant as well as being a member of Egyptian Orthopaedic association. He is in every way of humble beginning on January 7, 1962 and familiar with leadership and responsibility from his days as a medical student in ABU (1982-87), whence he served for about two-thirds of his medical school years as the Class Representative. He also doubled then as Chairman of Student Representative Council of ABUMSA. A man fortunate enough to have seen and tasted medical practice across the entire country within the first six years of graduation from the medical school. First, as a young House Officer in Kano, then off to the endowed South-South where he spent a year in Rivers (present Bayelsa) State. There, he was a pioneer member of the Rivers State Flying Doctors Scheme-A program that ensured access to health care among riverine communities of the South-South. For this feat, he bagged the prestigious NYSC Presidential National Honors Award. Little wonder his passion for Universal Health Coverage as a mandate for the NMA.
