Dr. Thomas Lisse obtained his Bachelors of Science Degree from Purdue University (USA) in Biology with specializations in Physiology and Neurobiology. He then did his post-baccalaureate research at the University of California at San Francisco within the Departments of Neuropathology and the Institution for Degenerative Diseases. Dr. Lisse then obtained his doctoral degree from the Technical University of Stuttgart (Germany) Institution for Cell Biology and Immunology, while conducting his research within the Helmholtz Zentrum Munich. After obtaining his doctoral degree, he then received an intramural training fellowship from the National Institution for Child and Human Development (NICHD) at the NIH (Bethesda, USA). Dr. Lisse then conducted his post-doctoral research at the University of California at Los Angeles within the Orthopedic Hospital Research Center. He concluded his post-doctoral research at the Massachusetts General Hospital (USA) within the Endocrine Unit. Dr. Lisse is currently an assistant professor at the University of Miami within the Department of Biology, and holds a faculty membership appointment within the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center as well.
