Abstract
The purpose of this commentary is to survey published results of currently funded research grants from several institutes of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) on the topic of sleep. Grants to be included are those whose Aims are focused on the mission of their institutes but also could stimulate new research on the risks and consequences of addiction which is the mission of the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
