Abstract

Venous thromboembolism (VTE), clinically manifested as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE). It is the third most common acute cardiovascular syndrome behind acute myocardial infarction and stroke [1]. It may occur before, during or after cancer diagnosis, with a relatively high incidence in cancer patients, ranging from 15 to 50% [2].
