Sarah AK Heinonen, DNP, APRN, CPNP has been a practicing board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and CCS paneled provider for more than 10 years with a variety of specialty practice areas over the last 18+ years ranging from PICU, CTICU, Cardiology to most recently Pulmonology in addition to active involvement in Global Pediatric Health Missions. Dr. Heinonen has experience in clinical management and clinical program development related to advanced practice framework development and implementation, as well as global health clinics. Additionally, she has faculty appointments at the university level teaching both graduate and doctorate level courses and actively teaches in both PNP and DNP programs today. Sarah is involved in professional organizations at the local, regional and national levels. She is a fellow at the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP), a longtime active member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and the California Association of Nurse Practitioner’s (CANP). Additionally, Sarah is an active board member of the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) and test item writer, Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society Member and a manuscript reviewer for 2 peer reviewed journals. She also provides annual pediatric global healthcare as a volunteer in Malawi, Africa.

Brenda Geiger, earned two Ph.D in Educational Psychology and Legal Philosophy from SUNYA. She is currently a full professor in Criminal justice at the Western Galilee College and in Zefat College and is serving as a psychologist on the prison Parole board. She has published 3 books and more than 30 articles. Her research interest focuses on violence (physical, emotional/verbal and sexual) against women, and children (verbal abuse), their rights and resistant efforts. More recently Prof. Geiger has been focusing on marginalization and excellence as a result of immigration and on the trauma of terrorism. She is herself political refugee from Egypt and Yugolavia and was for many years a Stateless Citizen in France.

Jeong received an MD degree in South Korea in 2002. Four years later, he matriculated at Johns Hopkins University and received MPH, MBA and Dr PH degrees as a Sommer Scholar from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and also was selected as a WHO patient safety scholar in 2007. He has been involved in developing and improving patient safety system in South Korea, Taiwan and Canada, and helping hospitals, including Johns Hopkins, design and implement safety programs for years. Dr. Jeong authored a Koreas national bestseller, Hospital Users Manual: 33 Safety Rules for Patients, which led many Korean hospitals to develop patient engagement programs for safer care; Koreas largest patient advocate association along with the Ministry of Health and Welfare developed a national patient safety campaign, based on the contents of the book, Smiling Patient, Safe Hospital. Through these works, he received Korean Minister of Health and Welfare Award twice in 2005 and 2013, and Johns Hopkins University Alumni Associations most prestigious Outstanding Graduate Award in 2014. In addition, he has been serving as an Incident Management Faculty of Canadian Patient Safety Institute, Director of International Affairs for the Korean Society for Patient Safety, Distinguished Advisor to the Korea Institute for Healthcare Accreditation, International Society for Quality in Health Care Fellow, and Editor-in-Chief for Biometrics and Biostatistics International Journal. Mohammad Avanaki RN is currently Chair of bio-instrumentation track and Assistant Professor in Departments of Biomedical Engineering, Neurology and Dermatology at Wayne State University, was a postdoctoral-fellow at Washington University in St. Louis until 2012. Completed his Ph.D. at the University of Kent with outstanding postgraduate student honors. Bachelors and Masters degrees with honors in Electronics Engineering. As a faculty member, awarded the Outstanding Faculty Award from the College of Engineering at Wayne State University twice. He also achieved the Best Lecturer Award at Azad University of Karaj for excellence in teaching higher education. Holds a Masters degree in Higher Education Teaching from the University of Kent.

Jayakar Thomas is professional life in dermatology has been based in the clinical world both patient care and medical education in the clinical setting. My particular interest has been in medical dermatology, especially pediatric dermatology and Teledermatology. Over his thirty years of working in this specialty, he have developed expertise in diagnosing and caring for challenging cases and have served as a consulting dermatologist for many other dermatologists in the country, as well as for my medical colleagues at Chennai. This expertise has also been sought regularly by international colleagues from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Australia, US, UK, to China in dermatology through the online dermatology discussion community of the International Teledermatology Society.
